T.Ra.Sh. Light Lime Mexican Lager
Brewed: 7/23/2017 Kegged: 8/12/2017
A couple of years ago ... the SheppyBrew Brew Master created a beer in honor of the family reunions on his wife's mom's and step-dad's side of the family. His wife (aka the SheppyBrew Beer Model) has 5 brothers in this reunion. One is her actual brother and four are her step-dad's sons. Each of those brothers are married and each of them has at least 2 kids. Every two years, this whole group rents a house somewhere and spends a week together. Amazingly, everyone gets along well and there is none of the drama you would typically imagine with this large of a group.
These reunions have been named "T.RA.SH." (based on the initials of the last names of the people going to the reunion.
The beer that was created was a Vienna Lager and little darker in color than most of the adults at the "T.RA.SH." reunion would typically drink. In the summer of 2017, we thought maybe it may be worth creating a "light" version of the beer more in line with what the others might typically drink.
In honor of the Brewer's Mother in Law, who is the only person in the world I've actually heard say the words "I love Bud Light Lime", I decided to make it a lime beer, adding lime zest in secondary.
As it turns out, I mistakenly added Columbus at the 15 minute addition when I meant to add Saaz. This also resulted in me adding hops at zero minutes of the boil. Not really a beer that the T.Ra.Sh. family would necessarily like, but the Beer Master should.
I made the decision to leave out the lime zest as well. Maybe the "Lime" in the name is no longer needed. But I kept it in ... just because I will enjoy telling people no limes are actually in this "lime beer".

Brewing Notes
7/23/2017 Well, I brewed today. Made a mistake in grabbing hops and ended up putting in Columbus as 15 minutes instead of Saaz. This will make for a much hoppier and more bitter beer. Oh well. I'll like it.
8/6/2017 Secondary today. Decided to leave out lime zest. Put it in bbq sauce instead. 1.010. Nicely hopped.
8/11/2017 Since the keg of Bob Dog blew, I'll be kegging this soon.
8/12/2017 Kegged today. Still delicious.
8/13/2017 Had a couple of pints. Other than needing more carbonation, this beer is perfect.
8/19/2017 I REALLY like this beer, but the name has to be ironic. Trash pa might be a better name for this.
9/4/2017 No lime. Delicious, but not limey at all.
9/29/2017 Killed the keg.
