Alabama Pelican Brown Porter

Brewed: 8/25/2019 Kegged: 9/10/2019

ALPelican.jpgIn the summer of 2019, we visited Gulf Coast Alabama for a family reunion.

The Brewmaster spent hours walking up and down the beach.

As you may know,  The Brewmaster is fascinated with the white Colorado pelicans. And,  found himself watching the Brown Pelicans of the gulf quite a bit.

As he would watch them soaring in formation or diving into the water,  he found himself thinking about brewing.

He thought it would be cool to take his Colorado Pelican Australian Sparkling Ale recipe, and darken it up to signify the darker color of the gulf pelicans to the Colorado pelicans.

This is the recipe he came up with.

The style isn't quite the same as an English porter,  but close enough for homebrew.
