On Your Left
Brewed: 7/12/2020 Kegged: 7/18/2020

While out on the bike, several times a day, he will announce himself to slower riders and pedestrians with "On Your Left". At some point he thought ... that would make a good beer name.
Early July, we needed a recipe and decided to make it an easy drinking low alcohol but flavorful beer to enjoy after rides in the summer heat.
We decided to start with an Ordinary Bitter as the base style.
We thought it would be fun to use Golden Naked oats as part of the grist, and went towards the light side of color for the style.
Rather than going with English hops, we thought we'd mix up the style a bit and go with Galena to add a bit more fruity hoppiness.
The Brew Master had also been spending quite a bit of time listening to Brülosophy podcasts lately, and really enjoyed the Short and Shoddy episodes / experiments.
If you're unfamiliar ... basically ... the idea behind "Short and Shoddy" is to cut some of the traditional processes to shorten brew days to see if you still end up with a good beer.
Lower mash times and boil times were things that come up over and over as not really being that important. Obviously, this dramatically reduces brew day times.
I thought I'd incorporate these and see what happens. I may decide to do more of my own recipes with lower mash and boil times. We'll see how this one turns out.
Should be awesome to drink this beer after a long hot July bike ride.
