Alex's Golden Paradise Tangerine Wheat

She has just recently started playing with ChatGPT, and for some weird reason started calling the AI "Alex".
The Beer Model worked with "Alex" to come up with an idea to brew. They decided on an American Wheat beer.
"Alex" and the Beer Model generated 3 separate wheat beer recipes, all of which were fairly similar.
We picked one and modified it slightly to end up with this recipe. It's a fairly standard American Wheat beer with some Tangerine zest flavor in the finish.
"Alex" gave the Beer Model a few suggestions for beer names and she ended up picking "Alex's Golden Paradise Tangerine Wheat".
You probably figured it out already, but in case not, I'll point out that the initials for "Golden Paradise Tangerine" are "GPT". Clever. Right?
It will be a nice refreshing zesty beer. Perfect for enjoying in the Colorado Spring.

Recipe created my ChatGPT and modified to match the SheppyBrew equipment.
No water salt additions to Denver water profile (as defined by BeerSmith)
Ca=31,Mg=8,Na=21,SO4=51,Cl=23,HCO3=104
Acid addition to target pH of 5.3
Mash grains as directed in recipe.
Bring the wort to a boil.
Add hops and other boil additions as directed by recipe.
After boil, add zest to the pot and let steep 15 minutes along with the flavor hop addition.
Cool the wort to as close to 60 degrees as possible and transfer to a fermenter.
Aerate the wort and rehydrate and pitch yeast.
Allow fermentation to raise to ambient temperature for 2 weeks of fermentation
Keg.
Carbonate to around 2.5 volumes of CO2 and enjoy the delicious beer.

3/11/2024 Got this recipe into Beer Smith and ordered / picked up the ingredients yesterday. Planning on brewing this coming Saturday.
3/16/2024 Brew Day today with the Beer Model. Our mash efficiency was horrible with a 1.029 pre-boil gravity. Added about half a pound each of dme and table sugar. Not sure why. Maybe such a high percentage of wheat?
3/16/2024 The remainder of the brew day went well. Yeast pitched and most of the cleanup done by 2:00 pm. OG right at 1.042. Almost 6 gallons in the fermenter. Yeast pitch at about 57 degrees. We'll see how fermentation goes.
3/17/2024 Fermentation started up sometime today. Now at 1.039 63 degrees.
3/18/2024 Going strong. Tilt says 1.029 at 65 degrees.
3/19/2024 Seems to be slowing down some. Tilt says 1.019 at 65 degrees.
3/21/2024 Tilt says 1.011 at 64 degrees. There isn't a lot of movement or bubbling, but there is still lots of krausen and the beer is extremely hazy. I was originally thinking I'd keg on Sunday, but it isn't looking like it will be ready at that point.
3/25/2024 Tilt says 1.007 at 63 degrees. Krausen gone and the clarity looks good. This is ready to keg. I'm sure I'll get this into a keg soon. I don't have room in the kegerator or beer fridge, so I can't start chilling yet.
3/28/2024 Kegged. Tilt said 1.006 at 64 degrees. Hydrometer said 1.006 as well. Beer is pretty good. Light and a little tart. Tangerine flavor is very faint. 4.7% ABV.
3/30/2024 Into the beer fridge. Was out on the patio with gas on it. So ... May have a decent carbonation... Or may need more once chilled.
3/31/2024 Gave a taste to the Beer Model Brew Master. She wants more citrus and more body. I told her we could add more zest and/or coriander and/or dry hops for the citrus. Not really anything to do about the body. She's thinking about it.
4/7/2024 Added more zest and coriander yesterday. Gave it a try today. Lots more citrus. Still thin, but tasting pretty good.
4/10/2024 Drinking in the 2024 Colorado Pint glass that I picked up today at lunch. Carbonation where I want it. Zest and coriander coming through very "tangeriney". I like this beer at the moment. We'll have to see what the Beer Model thinks when she tries it.
4/15/2024 The Beer Model's parents were visiting, and I gave them a flight of the beers I have on tap. This was their favorite. She is still not really a fan. I'm a little surprised considering the types of beers she usually gravitates to. But, what-evs.
5/10/2024 Took some up to Du's Brewery for Big Brew Day. Everyone pretty much felt the same way as the Beer Model and me. Thin and somewhat flat. Ok, but nothing special.

5/29/2024 Killed the keg. Makes me think of the Michelob Ultra / Diet beer type thing. I bet my sister-in-law would like this. Anyway, I think I'll be brewing Summer Lovin' next, which is probably more what the Beer Model was wanting this beer to be. Not sure why she didn't just have us brew that beer.
